I’m working on a new dishcloth. What do you think? It’s the Ballband Dishcloth from the Mason-Dixon Knitting book. I’m using Peaches & Creme cotton in Yellow and Gumdrops. It’s really a fun dishcloth to knit, not at all boring, and I really like how it looks. I’d have to give this pattern 5 stars and 2 thumbs up - or something like that.
In other Procrastiknitter news, I’m changing the layout around here, so things may seem a bit wonky now and then. I’ve gone from my old olivey-retro look to a cleaner, more-organized look, but I’m not done yet. I really like both themes, so I’m going to work on combining them together. I’m not the greatest when it comes to CSS though, so it may take me some time - maybe a lot of time.
By the way, have you seen the Online Color Schemer and Color Schemer Gallery? I think they could both come in very handy for those people interested in changing their weblogs or… or… (ready?)… planning out a knitting project! I’ve seen a few color combinations that would make an awesome blanket. All you’d have to do is pick a color scheme and then find the yarn you’d need to match the scheme you’ve chosen. Check it out and you’ll see what I mean. Enjoy!

Well, I finally finished the KAL that I mentioned on June 16, 2006. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I don’t know how much I really like it, the shape seems a bit impractical to me, but it was cool to see it take form. In the picture I’m sharing, I’m blocking the dishcloth on my bulletin board. I’m not too worried about it being a perfect star, but I would like it to lay flat. It should be interesting. If nothing else, it feels good to finish a project, especially when you’re a procrastinating knitter - a procrastiknitter - like me!

I seem to do a whole lot more talking than knitting lately. That’s about to change, however, with the new mid-month dishcloth KAL from the Monthly Dishcloths group. It looks like Andi has a mighty big surprise in store for her group members. Her latest KAL starts on size 6 circular needles and we have to cast-on 195 stitches. Can you imagine? All I can say is this should be very interesting and I’m sorta scared.
It may take me a few extra days to complete this KAL. I have a feeling deep down in my gut that it’s going to be a doozie. I promise though, as soon as I finish this surprise dishcloth, I’ll post a picture. Please, wish me luck!
P.S. The KAL I mentioned on May 31, 2006 - I never got around to doing it. I did go to Walmart in the hopes of finding some nice cotton yarn (solid colors) to work with, but unfortunately they had zilch. Actually, they look as if they’ve gotten rid of quite a bit of their yarns, which is really too bad. Anyhow, I’ve since been to AC Moore to pick up some yarn, so I’m set for today’s KAL. Thank goodness!

One of the Yahoo groups that I’m in, Monthly Dishcloths, periodically does a dishcloth exchange. While I don’t participate in all of them, I thought it would be fun to get involved with the most recent one. Well, I finished my dishcloth today and it is on its way to my partner in South Dakota. Wow! Does it ever feel good to get a project done - no matter how big or small that project may be. Anyhow, I followed a pattern that I found at Knitting Knonsense called The DW Cloth. I used Clover Bamboo needles (size 7) and Lily’s Sugar n Cream cotton yarn (Twilight Ombre). I think it came out nice and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she likes it!
