I’ll clean the house when I’m done with this row. Maybe.
Yes, I truly am a procrastinating knitter.

How fast can information spread across weblogs?

There’s a researcher out there who is trying to find out the answer to that question. Click here to visit his blog page and you’ll find out what I’m talking about. While you’re at it, help to spread the word by writing an entry about his experiment in your own blog and forwarding others to his webpage. Make sure to let him know you blogged about him by leaving him a link back to yourself in his comments, okay? Now go, go, go!

Welcome Back Stor Troopers!

Link: Stor Troopers

You know, I’ve had my little Stor Trooper Hope (sidebar) for ages now. I made her way back when - probably 2001? Maybe 2002? I don’t know. All I know is that I was glad that I saved her. You see, for quite awhile there were no more Stor Troopers and, man-oh-man, I was bumming. How was I going to update my Stor Trooper? How was I going to change her look? She couldn’t change her hair. She couldn’t change her clothes. <sigh> It was a sad, sad day in my world when the Stor Trooper website disappeared.

I know, I know. I sound pathetic.

Anyhow, today I discovered something that turned my grey skies to blue, made my heart pound with happiness and caused me to leap with laughter - Stor Troopers are back! Yes, that’s right. They have returned to the world wide web. Even more exciting - they’re better than ever. There are now Original Troopers, Goth Troopers (above) and Fashionista Troopers. Too fun! Let me tell you, it’s a happy, happy day in Hope Land.

I know, I know. I still sound pathetic. Even more pathetic is the fact that they returned to the web over a year ago and I just found out today. Puhleeze, I’ve never been on top of things. I’ll be wearing last year’s fashions next year. That’s just how I am. Now go make your own Stor Trooper, pop him or her on your website and share it with the world - or at least with me. Have fun!

BlogDay 2006

Link: BlogDay 2006

Happy BlogDay 2006! What? You didn’t know it was BlogDay? Yes, according to Nir Ofir, BlogDay Founder, August 31st is BlogDay. What do you mean you don’t know what BlogDay is? You’re pulling my leg, right? Seriously? Okay. Okay. Well, according to the BlogDay 2006 website…

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. In this way, all Blog web surfers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.

So with that said, here are my five BlogDay 2006 Bloggers - enjoy!

  1. Stuck On Socks
  2. Tales of a Fat Girl
  3. Pickled Tink
  4. Glovebox Sandwiches
  5. Green Apple Martini

Countdown Timer

When I saw the countdown timer that Dani had, and I saw that she’d posted the release date for the next Harry Potter movie, I decided I wanted a countdown timer too. I know, I know - I’m a copycat, but I’m a copycat that absolutely loves Harry Potter. What can I say?

Anyhow, I finally found my countdown timer at sothq.net. It’s easy to install and easy to use. Check it out and start counting down to your favorite days!

Kitchen Kicks

I love recipes. I’m not the greatest of cooks, but I do love to try a new recipe once in awhile. I keep hoping that the more I cook, and the more recipes I try, the more my cooking skills will develop. So far it hasn’t worked, but that doesn’t stop me from making the attempt.

Not all of my favorite recipe spots are full of foo-foo recipes. Actually, most of my favorite pages include meals made with everyday, always-in-the-pantry sort of ingredients. If you haven’t checked out some of these, give them a shot.

I love online journals. I love to see what other people have to say about life, about love and about knitting. I admit, I’m nosy like that.

P.S. For more of my favorite bloggers, check out my sidebar. The links above will eventually be added to my sidebar as well.
