I apologize if anyone out there in blogland received a bunch of crazy pings or silly e-mails, but I had to restore my site today and I forgot to turn off the notification stuff before I did it. Heck, I sent myself nine e-mails, so I’m guessing I caught a few other people as well. Like I said, I’m sorry. Anyhow, things should be back to normal now. If you see anything funky, please feel free to let me know.
Now I’m off to take today’s pictures off of my camera. I took a picture for Saturday Sky, so I need to get that uploaded tonight. Thank goodness the kiddos are in their rooms watching television. It gives me enough peace and quiet that I may actually get something done tonight. Yay quiet!

Your monster name is Undead Butcher.
You like to feast on M&Ms.
You lurk around Olive Gardens.
You especially like to torment Blondes.
I saw this at Rachel’s. You’ve seen it at mine. Now it’s your turn to take the quiz. What’s your monster name?

That would be me - a naughty procrastinating knitter.
Sorry I haven’t been around very much, I just haven’t had much to share. I keep thinking that I’ll set a day aside to enjoy some knitting and then - wouldn’t you know it - I find myself doing everything but knitting. I don’t know why, but I just can’t seem to organize my time very well. I need a lesson or two (or three?) on time management, I think.

I really don’t know what to say about this week’s Saturday Sky. Take a look at the Saturday Sky from last week or the week before. Whatever I said on those two days could probably be said today.
<sing>It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…</sing>
Yeah. Uh huh. Right.

Your pirate name is: Calico Anne Kidd. Often indecisive, you can’t even choose a favorite color. You’re apt to follow wherever the wind blows you, just like Calico Jack Rackham, your namesake. Even though you’re not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!
All I can say is… too true!
Find out your pirate name.

You know, it’s really not necessary to pull this beanie down over the ears. It no longer looks like a beanie to me, but now reminds me of a hair net. The lovely expression on my child’s face doesn’t help much. Trust me, with his tongue in his mouth and part of his ears showing, it looks much better.
I’m thinking Tim doesn’t care for the beanie I crocheted. He didn’t come right out and say he didn’t like it, it’s just a feeling I get - mother’s intuition, I guess. Oh well, that’s okay. I tried. If nothing else, I discovered I crocheted faster than I thought.
I would have loved to knit him a beanie, one of those cool-looking skater-dude sorta beanies that you can buy at Dan’s Comp or CCS, but I just didn’t have the time and I’m not sure I have the talent. Maybe eventually I’ll come across an awesome beanie pattern that he loves and I can accomplish. We’ll see.

My son wants a hat in the worst way and, just to make things difficult, he wants it tomorrow for the first day of school. Why? I have no clue, he just does.
So, because he wants one, I’m going to attempt to crochet him a hat tonight. I’m not going to guarantee anything, because I crochet almost as slowly as I knit, but I’m going to try to complete one anyhow. I chose a simple pattern to help me out and luckily my darling son approved. Wish me luck - please!

I don’t know about you, but I’m sad, very sad. While a part of me sometimes wondered if the man was off his rocker (said with affection) - did you ever notice the size of those crocodiles? - you have to admire the work of Steve Irwin. I’m going to miss him.

I guess some things never change. This Saturday looks a heckuva lot like last Saturday, doesn’t it? The only difference would be how wet it is outside - we got some major downpours today! Hopefully next Saturday we’ll see a sunnier sky.

You know, I’ve had my little Stor Trooper Hope (sidebar) for ages now. I made her way back when - probably 2001? Maybe 2002? I don’t know. All I know is that I was glad that I saved her. You see, for quite awhile there were no more Stor Troopers and, man-oh-man, I was bumming. How was I going to update my Stor Trooper? How was I going to change her look? She couldn’t change her hair. She couldn’t change her clothes. <sigh> It was a sad, sad day in my world when the Stor Trooper website disappeared.
I know, I know. I sound pathetic.
Anyhow, today I discovered something that turned my grey skies to blue, made my heart pound with happiness and caused me to leap with laughter - Stor Troopers are back! Yes, that’s right. They have returned to the world wide web. Even more exciting - they’re better than ever. There are now Original Troopers, Goth Troopers (above) and Fashionista Troopers. Too fun! Let me tell you, it’s a happy, happy day in Hope Land.
I know, I know. I still sound pathetic. Even more pathetic is the fact that they returned to the web over a year ago and I just found out today. Puhleeze, I’ve never been on top of things. I’ll be wearing last year’s fashions next year. That’s just how I am. Now go make your own Stor Trooper, pop him or her on your website and share it with the world - or at least with me. Have fun!
