THE BASICS

Do you consider yourself a beginning sock knitter, an intermediate, or have you been doing this so long you could probably knit a pair in your sleep?

I’ve been knitting for about two years. I started knitting as a means of keeping my hands busy while I was quitting smoking. I ended up finding a hobby that I really enjoy. I think I would consider myself an early intermediate/intermediate knitter (sock knitter). I’m often intimidated by new projects, but I’m generally patient enough to work through the kinks and figure things out. If I run into problems, I can usually find someone or something to help me out - both online and offline.

Shoe Size: Size 8.5 to 9 (US)
Foot Circumference: 9.25 inches
Foot Length: 9 inches

Note: I’m one of those fluffy females, so my calves are quite large. If you’d feel more comfortable making ankle socks, well, I would certainly understand that.

YARN PREFERENCES

What colors do you love?

I love all colors! Pink is my favorite color, but I also love blues, greens and autumn colors.

Do you prefer solids or variegated?

I honestly have no preference.

Do you prefer wool, cotton or acrylic yarn?

I’ve never tried cotton or acrylic for socks, so I’d have to say I prefer wool. I do love cotton for dishcloths though and I’d love to eventually try Crystal Palace Panda Cotton Yarn for socks.

What colors would you never wear?

Hmm… I can’t think of any!

What are your favorite brands of yarn?

Knitpicks, Lorna’s Laces, Socks That Rock, Koigu KPPPM, Trekking XXL, Opal… again, I’m not picky!

Are there any new brands you would like to try?

Some interesting yarns I’ve heard about… Crystal Palace Panda Cotton Yarn, Tofutsies, Austermann Step

Which of her patterns have you already knit?

None! I’m a Cookie A. newbie.

Which pattern(s) would you like to knit and don’t already own?

They’re all so pretty! I think my favorites would be Pomatomus, Flicker, Millicent and Rhiannon (even though I do believe it’s way beyond my current capabilities).

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION

Would you be willing to have an international Pal or do you prefer one in the US?

Any pal is okey dokey with me!

Do you have any allergies?

I don’t have any allergies, but the smell of cigarette smoke does bother me a wee bit. I hope that doesn’t offend anyone who is a smoker because I really don’t want to sound uppity or anything, it’s just that I’m somewhat sensitive to the smell since I quit smoking a couple years ago.

Will your knitting be exposed to smoke or animals?

My knitting won’t be exposed to smoke, but I do have animals. Even though I try to keep animal hair away from my projects, it doesn’t always happen!
